The reverse-osmosis system got large amounts of water |

|
|
In steam sterilization, water which conforms at least to the
standards of demineralised water (aqua dem) as set forth in VDE
510 is necessary to protect and to extend the service life of
autoclaves, and to prevent the formation of spots on sterilized
objects. Unfortunately, the quality of such water will
fluctuate, depending on its source and method of treatment.
Poor-quality water used in the autoclave can lead to the
formation of residue from water contents on the instruments, in
the sterilization chamber, in the water supply tank, and on all
system parts which come into contact with steam. If allowed to
act for long periods of time, such residue can even cause rust
to form on stainless steel. |

Demineralised water
produced in the doctor’s own practice assures uniformly high levels
of water quality. MELAG offers three different water treatment
systems. In addition to guaranteeing uniformly high-quality water,
treating water in the doctor’s practice also enables an additional
essential benefit: considerable saving of time and money. Water
directly treated in the practice is considerably cheaper than
comparable water from supermarkets, drugstores, and the like. With
your own treatment system, you also save the time needed for buying
and fetching the water, and for disposing of containers and the
like.
The MELAdem®
55
provides demineralised water for the large MELAG Autoclave 25, or
for doctors’ practices with large demand for such water. MELAdem®
55
operates on the principle of reverse osmosis, as does the
MELAdem®
47.
The MELAdem®
55,
however, produces more water: seven (7) litres of demineralised
water per hour. The water storage tank has a volume of seven (7)
litres.
